How we make things
fourfifty production is a one-person studio that uses its own software and AI tools for a large part of production. Here is what that means, per project – no hand-waving.
Videos (YouTube, TikTok)
- Facts first. Every claim and number in a documentary traces back to a source, listed in the video description. We do not invent finds, quotes or footage.
- Scripts are drafted with the help of large language models and edited against the sources.
- Narration is synthetic text-to-speech. No human voice actor is recorded.
- Visuals are mostly real archive material with a verified licence (public domain, CC0, CC BY) plus our own maps, diagrams and graphics made in code. Where no real image exists, we occasionally use an AI-generated image and label synthetic photorealistic content on upload, as YouTube requires.
- A human gate. Nothing publishes automatically: a person watches every video and approves it before it is scheduled.
Books (Amazon KDP)
- Puzzles are generated and checked by our own algorithm – every Sudoku has exactly one solution.
- Short texts may be written with AI assistance; coloring pages may be AI-generated and are then selected and reworked by hand. We declare this honestly in Amazon's AI-content form.
Mistakes
Automation and simplification can still produce errors. If you spot one, write to contact@fourfiftyproduction.com – we would rather correct than defend.
