Credits & sources
Per-video credits live in each video's own description: the specific image authors, licences, map data and the AI-content note for that video. This page is the standing list of where our material comes from.
Images & footage
- Wikimedia Commons – only public-domain, CC0 and CC BY files. CC BY files are credited by author and licence in the description. We skip NonCommercial, NoDerivatives and ShareAlike files.
- US federal agencies (NASA, NOAA, USGS, DoD and others) – public-domain imagery and video.
- Public-domain films – only scenes from films whose copyright has verifiably expired, always marked as “Scene from <Film> (<Year>)”.
Maps & data
- Natural Earth (public domain), USGS elevation and hydrography data (public domain), PB2002 plate boundaries (ODC-BY) and historical-basemaps (GPL-3.0) – credited in the video where used.
Generated material
- Narration: open text-to-speech models. AI images: open image models, used sparingly and disclosed.
