The licences behind the material we use, and the rules we hold ourselves to.

What we rely on

• CC BY 4.0 – reuse allowed, including commercially, with attribution. We credit author and licence in the description.
• CC0 1.0 and public domain – no rights reserved; we still name sources where useful.
• Open data licences (ODC-BY, GPL-3.0 for map data) – attributed where used.
• Fonts in our books and graphics are under the SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0.

How we comply

• Every third-party piece is logged with source, author, licence and check date before it is used.
• No NonCommercial, NoDerivatives or ShareAlike material, no news-channel footage, no protected film clips.
• AI-generated narration and visuals are disclosed and labelled as synthetic where platforms require it.
